This will be an audit that you conduct based entirely on your potential client’s Facebook ads account data.
Using their data not only lets you know in advance whether this client may be a good match for you, it also lets you show your skill and prove your value, before they ever sign a contract.
Your potential clients will be so impressed with what you’re showing them, and the ideas you give to improve their current campaigns, many of them will stop you partway through your presentation to ask how much it will cost to work with you.
No, I am not exaggerating. We have had this happen at our agency, using this very method.
Here’s how you do it.
Step 1. Run a Lead Generation Campaign and Offer a Facebook Ads Audit
As mentioned earlier, the free Facebook ads audit is the lynchpin of this method.
Most digital marketing agencies charge anywhere from $300 – $1,000 for an audit, because it takes a lot of time to pull a potential client’s Facebook data, put it into spreadsheets and review all of it to get any indication of how their campaigns are doing.
You won’t have to do all that work. I’ll get to that in the next section. Trust me, this will be easy.
For this step, you need to generate leads so you can make this offer.
There are several ways you can do this:
- Run Facebook ads targeted to your ideal clients, offering the audit. (Yeah, I know, this sounds obvious, but it is what you do for a living, right?)
- Contact potential clients who decided not to work with you in the past and make this offer.
- Contact everyone you know to see who might be interested.

Once you have your leads, it’s time for the next step.
Step 2. Get Temporary Access to Your Potential Client’s Facebook Ads Account
This is a lot easier than you think when you use FunnelDash’s “Ad Account” button to get temporary access to your client’s Facebook ad account.
All you need to do is click on the button inside the Audit section of your FunnelDash account.
Then put your name and a short message for your potential client as to why you need access to their account. Send them the link in an email or via Facebook messenger. In fact, they’ll be happy to sign a monthly retainer agreement for double, or triple what you’re charging now, because you’ve just proved that you’re worth it. You’ve just shown them that you know what you’re doing, you understand their campaigns, and you have their best interests at heart.
This is the point where you present them with your proposal and contract to sign, so everyone walks away happy.
